Regulations Proposed in Labor Code are Aimed at Improving Employees’ Health Care
1 / 9

At December 8 sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Labor and Social Affairs, the legislative package on Making Addenda and Amendment to the RA Labor Code and Making Addenda and Amendment to the RA Law on Public Service was debated in the second reading. The RA Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Ruben Sargsyan presented the issue.

According to the Deputy Minister, the initiative is aimed at improving the employees’ health care. As Ruben Sargsyan has said, if an employee does not present the documents on the vaccination or the PCR test, then the employer is given the right to not allow an employee to come to the workplace. In case of not coming to work for the same reason during certain period, the employer is given the right to dismiss an employee.

Special bases that do not allow an employee to work, unilaterally terminate the employment contract by the employer, do not allow the person holding public position or the public servant to come to the work, terminate the authorities or dismiss the position held are set.

It was noted that in case of medical contradictions, the issue of funding for testing will be debated with the stakeholders soon.

The Committee endorsed the issue.
